One Heart Child and Family Services is focused on providing an individualized plan of treatment that meets you and your family’s needs, and that is based on the latest research in child development, brain development and psychological assessment and treatment. We work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and we are trained to work with a variety of mental health and family needs. 

Our therapists offer several specialized services including attachment focused therapy, parental separation support and mediation, infant mental health education and support, and play therapy.

Heather Ulrich, Ph.D.

Dr. Heather Ulrich earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Montana. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at UNCA and a NC Licensed Psychologist.

Dr. Ulrich specializes in working with adopted families, children and families who are managing attachment based disturbances, children who have experienced chronic stress and/or abuse/neglect, and families who are separated and focused on co-parenting. However, Dr. Ulrich enjoys working with individuals of all ages who are looking for a relationally focused therapist. 

Debbie Scully, LPC, RPT

 Debbie Scully is a Licensed Professional Counselor and one of the only Registered Play Therapists in the WNC area! She has over 20 years experience working with individuals of all ages with a variety of needs. Ms. Scully loves to incorporate play and the arts into her work.
